Who are we
Occamy is named after the character Occamy of the Fantastic Beasts series and also from Occam’s razor principle which states “When we have two competing theories that make exactly the same predictions, the simpler one is the better”
Occamy (okami) is a woman led DIPP registered startup founded by microbiologists turned Entrepreneurs with a vision to provide innovative, simple, affordable, researched and readily scalable microbial solutions.
As global pollution is growing , the interaction between animals , environment and humans is on the rise leading to rise in zoonotic diseases , antimicrobial resistance, food security , and climate change.
Occamy’s One Health approach enables addressing all of these interlinked issues , creating economic, health, social and environmental impact and aligning with 9 global sustainable goals inn the journey.
What do we do
We at Occamy strongly believe and have established that improved animal immunity and health can be a principal solution for all One Health Objectives as it works at the grass root of the entire value chain.
Taking this into account, the primary solutions Occamy has developed and commercialized are nutraceuticals for ruminants that are made of microbial protein, proprietary probiotic strains, amino acids, minerals and vitamins. Nutraceuticals are products that offer benefits of nutrition and Pharma together in a preventive approach acting as a bridge filling gaps between the feed industry and veterinary pharma.
Ruminants form the largest portion of livestock in India and live in close human association ie right in the backyard of farmers. The portfolio of solutions are therefore directed towards improving ruminant health and immunity in the first stage while products for other livestock animals and pets are at developmental stage.
